S5 ep 1

Transfer number 5, here we come baby!

Sorry I didn't email last week, my P day was on a Wednesday and it was before transfers, so I really didn't have much time😅 Anyways, I'll be staying out here in Buckeye with Elder Peck, and my same roommates Edler Malphrus and Elder Randall. We're a fun quad that's for sure😂Elder Malphrus has this really really good board game called Dice Throne, and we all have some really sweet games in addition to it. P-days are super hype to say the least😎

My comp and I have been doing a lot of driving, we've had go to Glendale twice to get our SIM card fixed, and also to go to the temple! We went to the Phoenix temple and it was really great. For transfers, I also got to assist in killing my grandpa (Elder Bass, he trained Elder Grant) meaning he went home this transfer. It was a lot of fun to be with him in his last days. Definitely was kind of daunting seeing I'll only be at 6 months in a week, but at the same time it has flown by which is wild! I've got quite the ways to go though. 

This past Friday we had a baptism for our friend Tyler! I didn't meet him until his baptism basically, so I don't count it as one of mine. But it was still really cool to see it! It was kinda scuffed though. Our members in charge of filling the font and making the programs both canceled on us at like 10 pm the night before, so we had to throw some stuff together. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done! As far as the work, we're always looking for more people to teach, but more so now. We actually had like a golden referral but she turned out to be a fake so that's a dud. We have some really cool people that we are currently teaching but it's hard to meet with them consistently. It is really cool to see the Lord's hand out here though. With how big our area is and how spaced out everyone is we would never be able to find anyone on our own, that's for sure. We have had a lot of great progress with the inactives in the area, out of maybe 30 of 33 families have let us in and are really willing to set up return appointments!

A bunch of wasps have been trying to build a nest in the corner of our doorframe so in the past 3 days I've probably killed 25 of them with our salt gun. They're surprisingly resistant too, they're also like 2 inches big😂 The hunt for big spiders and Scorpions is still continuing, however. 

Let's see... mission life. Right now, I'd say I'm doing decent. It's hard to not feel a little burned out and down as seeing almost every missionary I know is at like 20+ months and just talk about all the things they're gonna do when they get home etc. But it is what it is hahaha. We go off roading all the time though and it's super fun, we have a ton of very ill maintained roads in our area, haha.

For a spiritual thought this week we will keep it nice and simple. Do everything you can to focus your life around Christ. Every single little thing should be around him. Make sure you do that.

Not sure where to start

 May 15, 2023 S3 ep 1 Hey everyone, this last week was definitely an interesting one. My trainee Elder Deniger is doing really good, he's a great guy and he is excited to be here. He's a great missionary. Aside from our mission culture meeting on Friday everything was pretty normal.  But a lot happened and is changing as of today.  I am no longer in the Arizona Scottsdale Mission. The ASM has been cut in half and is now split into the new Flagstaff Arizona Mission and the rest into the Phoenix Arizona Mission. As of such I am not going to be seeing most of the friends I've made for who knows how long. At least the rest of the mission but probably more. I'm now on my second set of Mission Presidents and in a month I will get a new set. We have transfers again in 3 weeks so I have also lost 3 weeks of my mission. I've lived with the AP's for these last months and they are both leaving and getting split up, 1 to each mission. I'll definitely miss them, so the...

S1 Ep8 We Scrounged a Weight Machine

 April 10, 2023 How's it going everyone? I hope you all have had a great week and a phenomenal Easter, I sure know I did. We had Easter dinner with the Campbell's, a family that we are teaching right now. We think they are going to get baptized, so that is super exciting! I'm pretty tired, so I'm gonna keep this short, but it was a good week. We worked hard, and are starting to see it pay off. One cool thing this week is that we were biking around and found an entire Smith machine in a dudes driveway with a "free" sign on it. So, being elders we naturally called up a member with a truck and chucked it in our front room. It was pretty epic. Crazy to think I hit 2 months in the field this week and 3 months as a missionary in less than 2 weeks! Absolutely loving it out here, go read 3 Nephi 22:11-13. Some great scriptures.
